Röhlig Logistics delivers oxygen concentrators to India and Nepal
Bremen, 20 May 2021 - Röhlig Logistics delivers oxygen concentrators and medical accessories to Nepal and India which have been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic since April. For Gradian Health Systems - an experienced distributor of medical technology for resource-limited hospitals around the world - the Röhlig branch in Boston, USA, successfully handled two airfreight export shipments within a very short time, thus supporting the fight against the pandemic in India and Nepal.
The Röhlig team has been a key partner for us as we mobilized to support the COVID-19 response in India and Nepal. Their responsiveness, attention to detail, open communication, and commitment to our goal have led to a seamless experience during a critical and chaotic time, and have demonstrated why strong logistics matter.

Delivery of urgently needed oxygen
The cargo consisted of urgently needed oxygen concentrators and medical accessories. These produce pure oxygen continuously from atmospheric air and thus provide a simple and mobile solution for long-term oxygen therapy. With the first shipment, five pallets of oxygen concentrators and accessories were delivered by air freight from JFK airport in New York , USA to Delhi, India.
The rapid spread of the coronavirus from April onwards brought hospitals in India to their breaking point, with numerous patients waiting for life-saving oxygen. There is a severe shortage of oxygen throughout the country. This makes the fast and uncomplicated transport of relief supplies even more important.
#trulyreliable when it comes to fast and reliable transport
The first shipment was picked up at the production site in Pine Brook, USA the day after the initial contact with the customer and delivered on the next available flight. Soon after the first shipment arrived in good order, a second consignment—consisting of another five pallets of medical supplies—was picked up and airfreighted on its way to Kathmandu, Nepal to support with the growing COVID-19 cases there.
From the competent advice provided by the Röhlig team in Boston and New York, USA, and the close cooperation with the local trucking agent and airline, to the fast pick-up and transport of the goods, the team once again proves that the corporate value of being #trulyreliable is lived within the company.
Projects like these require quick thinking, reliable local relationships and a resilient global network. Michael Stamison Business Development Manager, Röhlig USA, also particularly appreciates that the team responds professionally and quickly when supporting customers with urgent deliveries and is willing to go the extra mile.
