Keeping global supply chains moving
23. March 2020 - The outbreak of Covid-19 is no doubt having an impact across the world, causing disruptions to global supply chains. With the surge in demand for consumer goods such as medical and hygiene supplies, it is more important than ever to have an operating and smooth running supply chain.
In March, two charter flights were loaded with flu medication going from the UK to the US. After close collaboration with charter operators, global partner Röhlig SUUS and the Röhlig network coordinated the shipment of over 270 pallets. All 170 tonnes of the cargo avoided flight disruptions and arrived as scheduled at JFK airport, ready for distribution to hospitals and pharmacies in response to the global pandemic.
