Röhlig Logistics continues to support the Bremen Wünschewagen
Bremen, 30 March 2023 - For the second year in a row, Röhlig Logistics is supporting the Bremen Wünschewagen, a project aimed at fulfilling the last wishes of critically ill people with a short life expectancy. The ASB Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Landesverband Bremen (Bremen Worker’s Samaritan Federation) runs this special initiative, which enables individuals to visit a favourite place one last time with their loved ones during the final phase of their life, while being well taken care of along the way.
In 2022, the Bremen Wünschewagen team carried out a total of 35 trips, and four more trips are already being planned for 2023. Sarah Stahmann, the project manager from ASB, explains: "We are very grateful for Röhlig Logistics' support. With their help, we now have more flexibility and can fulfill wishes that would have otherwise exceeded our financial means." The wishes are as varied as the fates of the terminally ill passengers themselves, ranging from elderly individuals who want to attend the wedding of their distant grandchildren, to young parents who wish for one last family vacation with their little children.
Philip W. Herwig, Managing Partner of Röhlig Logistics, says: "We are very pleased to continue helping to make as many wishes as possible come true with our donation of 15,000 euros. As a global logistics service provider headquartered in Bremen, we are keen to support both regional and international charity projects as part of our 'Röhlig Charity Programme’."
The ASB-Wünschewagen is entirely run by volunteers and financed exclusively through donations. The volunteer Samaritans not only accompany the trips, but are also involved in other areas such as public relations and fundraising.
