Röhlig Logistics supports Dieu Phap Pagoda Shelter in Vietnam
Bremen, 12 August 2024 - The owner-managed logistics company Röhlig Logistics is supporting Dieu Phap Pagoda Shelter in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam with a donation. Caring for orphans, single mothers and their children, the elderly and the disabled, the facility has been a pillar of support for the local community since 1972.
Ulrike Baum, Chief Human Resource Officer and Member of the Global Executive Board at Röhlig Logistics, explains: “Every two years, we hold our Global Conference with global leadership staff in a different country of the Röhlig network, and it has become a tradition for us to support a local charity. This year, we met near Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. When we heard about Dieu Phap Pagoda Shelter and the difficulties they face, we instantly knew that we wanted to contribute.”
The shelter focuses its limited resources on education, vocational training, and daily necessities, making infrastructure maintenance a major challenge. “Our donation will allow Dieu Phap Pagoda Shelter to significantly upgrade their facilities, ensuring a safer and more comfortable environment for all residents. We are delighted to support such an important cause”, says Laurie Forbes, CEO Southeast Asia at Röhlig Logistics.
About Röhlig Charity
The contribution to Dieu Phap Pagoda Shelter is just one component of the “Röhlig Charity Programme”, under which Röhlig supports various organisations and institutions worldwide. This year, the logistics service provider also donated 12,000 euros to the “ASB-Wünschewagen”, a charity fulfilling transport wishes for critically ill people. In 2023, Röhlig branches across the globe supported over 30 charitable causes as part of the annual „Röhlig Charity Initiative“.
