A matter of the heart - Röhlig Logistics supports the Bremen Wünschewagen
Bremen, 14 June 2022 – It was late 2021 when Philip W. Herwig, Managing Partner of Röhlig Logistics, first heard about the special "Bremen Wünschewagen" project. Almost immediately, he wanted to know more. Shortly after, an exchange followed with Sarah Stahmann who leads the project at the ASB Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Landesverband Bremen (Bremen Worker’s Samaritan Federation).
The project’s website reads in German ‘Der Wünschewagen - letzte Wünsche wagen’, which roughly translates to ‘The Wish Wagon – dare to make a last wish.’ Ms Stahmann explains: “Fulfilling a special wish for critically ill people in the final phase of their life – that is the task of the ASB-Wünschewagen. With the help of this project, which is financed exclusively by donations, committed Samaritans take people who are in the final stages of their life to visit a favourite place, taking good care of them along the way.”
Philip W. Herwig explains how Röhlig Logistics supports the project: "In my opinion, such an important project needs to be more widely known. That's why we’ve made Röhlig's outdoor car park available to the ASB and the Wünschewagen across several weekends. Surrounded by restaurants and close to the promenade along the river Weser, we hope that the vehicle and thus the project will be met with lively interest and gain more supporters. Röhlig has also decided to support the ASB in 2022 with 25,000 Euros, in order to make as many wishes as possible come true this year."

Röhlig Charity
Supporting the "Wünschewagen" project is just one component of the "Röhlig Charity Programme", under which Röhlig supports various organisations and institutions worldwide. Last year, employees across the Röhlig network donated to local social projects in their area. This project will continue in 2022. In addition, Röhlig donated 200,000 Euros to a non-profit organisation that cares for refugees from Ukraine in Poland.
