Making a positive impact worldwide – Röhlig Logistics supports the Pebbles Project
Bremen, 28 February 2023 - The owner-managed logistics company Röhlig Logistics has provided financial and practical support to the Pebbles Project, a South African non-profit organisation supporting children and families from farming communities in the Western Cape area.
“Every year, we hold our Global Conference with global leadership staff in a different country of the Röhlig network, and it has become a tradition for us to support a local charity. For our last conference in November 2022, we met near Cape Town, South Africa. When we heard about the Pebbles Project and its mission to help children from agricultural communities reach their full potential through education, health and nutrition services, we instantly knew that we wanted to contribute“, explains Philip W. Herwig, Managing Partner and Chairman of the Global Executive Board at Röhlig Logistics.
Over the course of three years, the Pebbles Project will receive a total of more than 20,000 euros – 18,000 euros coming from the company itself and 2,500 euros raised by the global management team. In addition to the financial contribution, Röhlig was keen to also provide hands-on support. Ulrike Baum, Chief Human Resource Officer and Member of the Global Executive Board at Röhlig Logistics, says: “During our stay in South Africa, we had the opportunity to visit one of the project sites and help renovate and remodel playgrounds. There was something to do for everyone, from building sand pits, sewing beanbags and setting up swings to planting flowers. We are delighted to have made such a tangible difference, and were very touched to see the excitement on the children’s faces when they discovered their remodelled play areas.”
