Warehouse Manager

Manages the receiving, storing, packing, and shipping of merchandise or materials. Maintains stock records and schedules. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. Oversees quality service by following organization standards. Maintains safe and clean work environment by ensuring shelves, pallet area, and workstations are neat; clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Makes sure that Warehouse minimum Standards are fully met.

 

Responsibilities

  • Equipment: Oversees the following
    • Conduct Daily Forklift inspection. 
    • Conduct Forklift driver evaluations. 
    • Conduct Forklift training. 
  • Training
    • Conduct Haz Material Training to warehouse staff.
  • Cargo Handling
    • Contract temporary contracts if needed. 
    • Make sure that all unknown cargo is identified within 24 hours of arrival. 
    • Make sure the warehouse is organized and presentable. 
    • Make sure that all inspections required are conducted in a timely manner and in accordance with the request received. 
    • Make sure that photos are taken when required and that the same will reflect the needed information. 
    • Make sure all warehouse services are performed within the time frame requested by our internal or external customer. 
  • Documentation Handling
    • Make sure that all documentation is scanned in our system within the time frame stipulated in our WMR. 
    • Make sure that all documentation is properly marked in case of exceptions (SED is Required, DG Goods, Damage Cargo, No Documents). 
    • Make sure that the warehouse receipt is entered into the system at the time the driver checks in. 
    • Be able to produce needed reports when required via our operational system or via other software. 
    • Be able to prepare Warehousing Standard Operations Procedures for internal or external customers and/or specific, Key Trade Lanes. 
  • Profit/Cost Center
    • Be able to understand warehouse costs (segregation/personnel, supplies, photos). 
    • Optimize costs per segregation. 
    • Control warehouse supplies and inventory. 
    • Coordinate time of operation (opening and closing hours). 
    • Make sure that all segregation and warehouse services are properly invoiced. 
  • Loadings
    • Coordinate trucking with operational team (FCL, Groupages). 
    • Coordinate FCL Segregation with warehouse staff. 
  • Compliance
    • Make sure that ID Check/SSI Cargo Acceptance Sheet is performed for all drivers and that the same is kept in file by date in accordance with TSA Regulation. 
    • Make sure drivers are properly signed up. 
    • Make sure all Temp works have gone through appropriate training in accordance with TSA regulation and HAZ Training. 
    • Make sure that all Temp workers must have a visitors' badge in accordance with TSA regulation. 
    • Make sure all emails are replied to as per company policy. 
    • Be able to lodge claims in accordance to company policy for damage and loss cargo. 
    • Hold monthly meetings with Staff and Management and make sure these meetings are properly reported in our QM system. 
    • Resolves discrepancies, while keeping records of discrepancies via the Innovations and Incidents Management (IIM) to ensure compliance. 

 

Skills required

  • High school graduate, some college preferred 
  • Knowledge of related computer applications 
  • Familiarity with all freight forwarding procedures and financials 
  • Business unit & Cost center supervision 
  • Essentially four plus years of industry related experience required 
  • Demonstrated Leadership and People Management skills 
  • Highly motivated and results driven 
  • Outstanding people skills; customer driven, business savvy 
  • Able to handle complex problems, multitasks
