Head of Sea Freight - EMEA Region (m/f/d)

Responsibilities
Your general accountability includes:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with Röhlig’s core-carrier program. Analyze FCL/LCL business on the defined trade lanes, analyze spend profile, seek opportunities to improve efficiency and value
- Select key carriers and develop/maintain contracts, negotiate with carriers in view of improving margins: bundle volumes, negotiations of regional VID’s, and reciprocal agreements
- Develop and maintain relationship at regional & global level for selected carriers including quarterly review meetings
- Ensure visibility of FCL/LCL rates through company’s designed global rate engine for the purpose of providing visibility of rates globally
- Functional lead for Sea Freight Product Managers – EMEA
- Active budget planning and steering of budget achievement for the applicable trade lane business
- Collaborates with Sales team and national sea freight functions in developing solutions and driving business growth
- Leads various Global Sea Freight Initiatives (e.g. drive FAK/Spot policy) to further develop and grow Global Sea Freight product functionality
- Setup, implement and manage allocations for responsible trades
- Ensure compliance with the relevant regulations and standards (e.g. Code of Conduct, FCPA etc.)
Skills required
- Comprehensive understanding of the sea freight forwarding market, professional experience in the sea freight procurement and experienced in finding the right solutions for the customer
- Entrepreneurial capability: strong negotiation skills, accountable, thinks strategically & appreciates a long-term development, highly engaging
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- High competence in use of MS Office suite, BI Frontend, data analytics and the capacity to learn new packages and tools
