Röhlig Australia and New Zealand once again supports local charities
Rohlig Australia and New Zealand supports local charities in both countries.
As a part of Röhlig Logistics Global Charity initiative, our colleagues in Australia and New Zealand had a chance to nominate and vote for local charitable projects. Röhlig branches in almost 30 countries worldwide have supported charitable institutions and projects with more than 140,000 euros in total.
In Australia and New Zealand, we have two places for each country and were able to offer our support to four different charitable organisations.
Rohlig Australia donates to Beyond Blue and Youth Off The Streets
Beyond Blue mental health organisation was the first place winner in Australia based on employees’ voting. The organisation focuses on supporting people affected by anxiety, depression and suicide.
“Rohlig’s $5,000 donation will directly help 104 people seek support from a mental health professional by either phone call, web chat or email through Beyond Blue’s 24/7 Support Service. The Beyond Blue Support Service gives every person in Australia the opportunity to talk through their concerns with a trained mental health professional via phone, webchat or email. People who access the service can receive a brief one-on-one counselling session to address an immediate concern, as well as receive information and advice on continuing to seek support”.
The Team at Rohlig was happy to know that our donation could help Beyond Blue continue to work towards achieving an Australian community that understands anxiety, depression and suicide.
#Beyond Blue is a great place for every person in Australia to start with when he/she requires support with mental health. Learn more https://www.beyondblue.org.au/
The second place winner in Australia was Youth Off The Streets. This organisation provides disadvantaged young people with the support and opportunities they need to create a positive future through various support services, cultural connections and educational pathways. Young people engaged in these services experience remarkable outcomes including personal growth, improved skills and attitudes, an increased sense of belonging, with a positive vision for their own future.
Rohlig’s donation will support a program in the organisation’s education services Cycle of Courage which enables young people to build and strengthen positive relationships with peers, staff, stakeholders and community members whilst also empowering each individual to set and achieve goals related to physical fitness, social inclusion and teamwork.
The importance of these programs and organisations like Youth Off The Streets to our communities cannot be underestimated and for
Röhlig Australia and New Zealand, it opens the door to our Rohlig community and cultural spirit which is a cornerstone of our Wellbeing Framework.
Rohlig New Zealand supports KidsCan and St. John
In New Zealand our Rohlig colleagues voted for local charities and as a result two organisations won the vote: KidsCan and St.John
St John
Hato Hone St John was founded in New Zealand in 1885 and is a part of the fabric of all communities throughout Aotearoa. St John is well known around the world for helping enrich the health and wellbeing of global communities. Although we operate and are funded entirely independently here in New Zealand, we’re proud to be a part of this important and long established Order.
Enhancing health and wellbeing
Those who work for Hato Hone St John are driven by the desire to help their local communities by providing essential health-related services. Our values - Whakaaro nui (We have open minds), Mahi tika (Do the right thing), Piritaha (We stand side by side), Mahi pono (We are straight up) and Whakapai ake (We make it better) - help us to achieve our vision of 'enhanced health and well-being for all New Zealanders'.
Hato Hone St John is at the frontline of medical response providing Ambulance Services throughout New Zealand. We’re also part of the broader landscape of health and social care, through our provision of first aid training, event medical services, medical alarms, youth programmes and a wide range of community programmes.
The KidsCan Charitable Trust charity won second place in New Zealand.
The organisation is Aotearoa New Zealand’s leading charity dedicated to helping Kiwi kids affected by poverty by providing food, jackets, shoes and health products to schools and early childhood centres across New Zealand. With these essentials, kids can participate in learning and have the opportunity for a better future.
Rohlig New Zealand’s donation will help provide:
