Röhlig Logistics strengthens contract logistics footprint in Thailand and Australia
Bremen, 5 December 2024 - The owner-managed logistics company Röhlig Logistics is strategically expanding its contract logistics footprint in Thailand and Australia. Röhlig inaugurated a new warehouse in Rayong / Laem Chabang, Thailand, in October this year, and is set to open another facility in Melbourne, Australia, in April 2025.
Free Trade Zone warehouse in Rayong / Laem Chabang
The new Thailand warehouse boasts 16,000 square metres of storage space and is positioned in a Free Trade Zone near Laem Chabang Port, one of Thailand’s key shipping hubs. The facility offers 10-meter-high ceilings, 15 loading docks, over 8,000 pallet positions, 10,000 bins for small parts and dedicated bulk and quarantine areas. With built-in scalability, the warehouse can expand by an additional 5,000 square metres to accommodate future growth. Advanced safety features, including a thermal isolation rooftop, sprinklers, fire alarms, 24/7 on-site security, and CCTV surveillance, ensure the secure handling of sensitive goods such as electronics.
State-of-the-art facility near Melbourne Airport
Röhlig’s upcoming Melbourne facility, scheduled to open in April 2025, is designed to support fast and flexible international trade. Strategically located near Melbourne Airport, the 19,000 square metre purpose-built warehouse will feature 17,500 pallet positions, comprehensive inventory control, and a range of value-added services. With renewable energy sources, EV charging, and sustainable waste and water management practices, Röhlig aims to minimise environmental impact while enhancing operational efficiency.
Sophisticated warehouse management system
Both new facilities will benefit from a sophisticated warehouse management system (WMS) from Infor, a global leader in cloud-based software solutions. “With key capabilities like automation and analytics, the Infor WMS provides full visibility into warehouse operations. This enables us to optimise processes and deliver even more reliable service tailored to our customers' needs”, said Niels Rudolph, Global Contract Logistics Director at Röhlig Logistics.
