On July 13, 2022, Röhlig Malaysia celebrated the Grand Opening of its storage and office facility. Located close to major transport links in Subang Jaya, the bonded and non-bonded warehouse space initially began operations over 18 months ago, successfully expanding even during the Covid-19 pandemic. Now that pandemic restrictions have relaxed nationwide, the team was finally able to come together and hold a ceremony marking the successful development of this combined warehouse and operations hub.
An evening of celebration for staff and guests
The Grand Opening was held at a marquee just outside of the warehouse, allowing easy access for guests to tour the facility. Inside the marquee, guests were treated to a buffet dinner, music and a ceremony hosted by emcee for the evening, Tincy Tan.
Over 160 people were in attendance, including customers, partners and colleagues of Röhlig Malaysia. The guests of honour were Ulrike Baum, Member of the Röhlig Global Executive Board, Laurie Forbes, CEO of Röhlig Southeast Asia, John Luk, Regional CFO of Röhlig – Asia Pacific, and Dickson Ooi, General Manager of Röhlig Malaysia, who together unveiled and signed the celebratory plaque onstage.
A one-stop hub for customers' logistics needs
Röhlig Malaysia's Subang Jaya facility is positioned close to the country's major transit hubs and is one of the few warehouses in the area offering both bonded and non-bonded storage all under one roof. An additional benefit to the facility is the adjoining office space, meaning Röhlig Malaysia management and staff are onsite, directly overseeing operations.
The facility is equipped to support cross-docking, local/regional distribution, pick-and-pack, assembly, (de)vanning of containers and numerous value-add services. It is also GDPMD (Good Distribution Practice for Medical Devices) certified, and able to handle a range of cargo including GDSM, electronics, industrial goods, and more.
Over the past 18 months, the facility has been in high demand with customers benefitting from the total 6,500 pallet spaces and room for bulk goods.
More to come from Röhlig Malaysia
The Röhlig Malaysia team has been growing rapidly since first opening in 2016. Now employing around 40 people, and with the relocation to the Subang Jaya hub, the team continues to enhance their capabilities and offer even more support for our customers. Röhlig Malaysia would like to sincerely thank all attendees who made the Grand Opening a night to remember, and the team is looking forward to further cooperation in the near future.
