Röhlig China facilitates charter flights to Europe
30 March 2021 - We keep pandemic prevention materials moving. One year on from the outbreak of coronavirus, transporting various medical and protective equipment remains a top priority across the world. Charter flights to Europe have been one such channel that has helped to quicken the pace of the supply chain. Our latest of such charters now flies out of the city of Wuhan, China.
Charter flight to Europe from Wuhan, China
In early 2020, Wuhan served on the front line in the battle against coronavirus. Now, the city has largely recovered normal day-to-day operations, and is serving as a supply chain gateway for urgently-needed pandemic prevention materials.
Together with our Austrian partner, Röhlig Logistics is helping to facilitate such deliveries. Our client’s goal is that this equipment can assist the pandemic prevention effort in Europe as countries work to defeat the virus once and for all. With speed and regularity being top priority, together our partners and the team at Röhlig Logistics have planned 20-30 charter flights delivering these materials directly from suppliers in China to our client in Austria.
Our air freight team in Xi’an, China is also working in close cooperation with headquarters in Germany to ensure all arrangements are taken care of at either end.
I would like to thank both our Röhlig colleagues in Germany and our Austrian partners for their cooperation in the timely and successful delivery of these materials in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Our Xi’an team is honoured to have offered our expertise to help facilitate this project, and together we hope that normal day-to-day life can resume for all as soon as possible.

Why are charter flights to Europe in such high demand?
Charter flights have been a lifeline for clients seeking to transport goods quickly and reliably between Asia and Europe. Our own Air Freight Charter Solution has been hugely supported by our global network, ensuring that almost no location is ‘off-limits’.
Keep in close contact with your Röhlig Logistics representative in case of ad-hoc space availability via our China-Austria charter!
Clear and transparent communication was key to the successful chartering of these flights. We prioritised timely feedback between all actors in order to overcome challenges including adverse weather conditions, stowage plan calculation and scheduling. Thank you to our partners and to the Röhlig team for their trust and support.
