The Röhlig Management System meets the requirements of the ISO 14001 Standard. At Röhlig, we are committed towards the improvement of our environmental performance and protection of the environment.

Environmental Management based on ISO 14001: 2015

At the heart of our environmental programme lies the economical use of resources, wide-spread environmental awareness and actions supporting climate protection.

Scope Environmental Management System

The Röhlig Management System meets the requirements of the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. The scope of our certificate covers “provide worldwide intercontinental freight forwarding, logistics and associated services”. In detail our products are Sea Freight, Air Freight and other associated logistics services.

It is our aim to be a reliable partner to our customers by creating chains of trust. We embrace our corporate values: truly reliable, forward thinking and eager for more. We set standards and monitor our services to meet our customer’s requirements, workplace health and safety and protection of the environment.

Interested parties and risks & opportunities relevant to our business were identified within the context of our organisation and included in our management system.

ISO 14001 Certification

The Röhlig Group holds a Group certificate for ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.

Our environmental management system is valid in all Röhlig countries. The following sites are included in the ISO 14001 certification:

There are no exceptions to the ISO 14001 Standard.

SCOPE OF THE POLICY AND CONSEQUENCES IN CASE OF VIOLATIONS

This policy document applies to all Röhlig employees at all locations, including part-time workers, interns, and contractors. Every member of the Röhlig team should familiarise themselves with the contents of this policy and act in a way that facilitates the achievement of our sustainability ambitions.

Management reserves the right to take appropriate action in case of policy violations. For severe policy violations, consequences can go up to termination of employment.

Röhlig is committed to the continual improvement of our company’s environmental performance. Our management system complies with ISO 9001, local legal compliance, and other requirements, and is continually monitoring ISO 14001 requirements on a global level.

At Röhlig we are committed to acting responsibly and protecting our environment by promoting sustainability throughout our business activities and decision-making process.

Our commitment to climate protection and the economical use of resources within our organisation is demonstrated through the focus on our green objectives as well as supporting our environmental programme which includes:

  • Innovative and sustainable service options.
  • Energy management through energy-saving alternatives.
  • Carbon footprint reporting.
  • Continuation of our partnerships for instance with Lufthansa to offer carbon-offsetting projects to customers.

Our company has targets for each of its key environmental sustainability issues, also in alignment with the results of its Double Materiality exercise.

Our Environmental Management System is verified regularly through audits and maintained through ongoing reviews of our environmental performance, monitoring the achievement of our targets and objectives as well as control measures.

ENERGY CONSUMPTION & GREENHOUSE GASES

TARGETS

Röhlig is committed to:

  • Powering 50% of its office locations and warehouses with renewable energy by 2030 where markets provide renewable energy and Röhlig has control over the energy sourcing.
  • Training 80% of its employees on environmental sustainability by 2027, including on the topics of energy consumption and greenhouse gases.
  • Certifying 95% of countries to ISO 14001 by the end of 2027.
  • Striving to improve the accuracy of its environmental reporting, especially regarding greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Providing transparent data on greenhouse gas emissions to its customers.
  • Optimising freight transportation to minimise negative environmental impacts.

Measures in place:

  • 76% of our warehouses are equipped with LED lighting.
  • 52% of our Warehouse facilities have thickened insulation layers.
  • We prioritize state-of-the-art IT equipment that meets the latest industry standards for low power consumption, extended lifespan, and optimized performance.
  • Our management system complies with ISO 9001, local legal compliance, and other requirements.
  • We are continuously monitoring ISO 14001 requirements on a global level. 25% of our operating countries are ISO 14001 certified.

MATERIALS, CHEMICALS & WASTE

TARGETS

Röhlig is committed to:

  • Carrying out a review of all waste streams at 95% of its locations by 2027, which will help identify priority areas of improvement to reduce waste.
  • Implementing waste separation across 90% of Europe Location by 2027.
  • Training 80% of our employees on environmental sustainability by 2028, including on the topics of materials, chemicals, and waste.
  • Adhering to the Waste Framework Directive.
  • Recycling electronic waste where possible or disposing of it in a safe way.
  • Always adopting the most advanced technology to prevent/ mitigate air emissions from its transportation activities.

  • We train employees on waste reduction best practices.
