Röhlig Logistics expands its global network in India with the opening of two sales offices
Bremen, 27 October 2022 – The owner-managed logistics company Röhlig Logistics has expanded its local presence in India with the opening of two sales offices in Ludhiana, Punjab and Bhubaneswar, Odisha. “Both of these cities are rapidly developing industrial hubs which offer enormous economic potential. Strengthening our local footprint with additional sales offices enables us to support our current and future customers in these regions even faster and more efficiently”, says Madhumita Tripathi, Managing Director at Röhlig India.
An important location for the production of clothing, household appliances, machine components as well as auto and bicycle parts, Ludhiana has seen strong economic growth in recent years. It is the largest city in the state of Punjab, one of India’s biggest exporting states. As very few global freight forwarders are based in Bhubaneswar, it is a largely untouched market with plenty of business opportunities for Röhlig. The bustling regional hub is the capital of Odisha, which is among the Indian states with the highest export growth this year.
Considered an “emerging market”, India has one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. Many global players looking to diversify their supply chains have shifted their production to India in recent years. With the world’s second largest population and the majority of its 1.4 billion people being of working age, the South Asian country boasts a strong workforce that can meet the increasing demand.
With the opening of the new sales offices in these strategically important regions, which took place in September and October this year, Röhlig Logistics further strengthens its position in the growing Indian market. The company now has ten operating branches and four sales offices in India.
